Comparison of NABH and AB-PMJAY Quality Standards for Accreditation in a Tertiary Care Medical hospital

Background: Quality Improvement (QI) is the organised approach to design and apply constant development inperformance. QI in hospitals increase patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction as well quality of care providedby an organisation. In India assessed by different standards which primarily included thoselaid down National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), were introducedin 2006 Council (QCI). 2018, Health Authority (NHA), introduced AyushmanBharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB – PMJAY) Certification standards, collaboration withQuality (QCI), enhancing improving across thehospitals.Objectives: The study was carried out with objective compare AB-PMJAY Gold standard NABH 5thEdition, identify challenges faced ensuring compliance these standards.Methods: descriptive cross sectional a multi-specialty hospital inRajasthan 2022. find similarities differences ABPMJAYand standards. All 5 chapters (Key Inputs, Clinical Service, Support Services, Patient Care,Health Outcomes) 53 study. Similarly, all 10 chaptersof 5th Edition, including 100 elements 651 study.The department preparing team ABPMJAYaccreditation.Results: It found that broadly covers NABH. Some challengesidentified implementation it requires more documentation, skilled staff, trainingneed trainer/coordinator, are very elaborative descriptive. Thechallenges achieve them, have makeimprovement their structural, procedural, clinical outcomes. thatboth constituent board both common targetof patient’s safety care. include documentation required compared AB-PMJAY, elaborative, andhospitals require certified co-ordinator implement comprises indicatorsand says do things. There financial resources NABH.Conclusion: hospital’s NABH’s full accreditation can directly qualitycertification.
